UDC retains Boswelatlou

The Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) has retained the Boswelatlou ward in Lobatse constituency.
Mr Themba Stimela of UDC received 183 votes against 165 received by Ms Zubeida Raphael of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP). Only two votes were spoilt in the October 3 bye-election.
A total of 350 people cast their votes out of the 791 who registered to vote in last year’s general elections.
The UDC had won the ward in the general elections with 278 votes while BDP came second with 276.
The bye-election was a result of Councillor Kabelo Sebako’s resignation. end
