16 Sep 2015

Interllegre Music, trading as BWMADE looks set to stride in the technology world in Botswana. Intellegere Music is a start-up company under the Intellegere Holdings Group of Companies.

It is the first company setup under Project120, a project aimed at setting up 120 tech start-up companies in Botswana.

BWMADE has designed applications (APP) compatible with mobile devices and computer desktops which enable access to contents in the internet. It plays as a shop which will address the different arts such as music, film, book, fashion and craft downloads and access of information readily available in the internet.

Interllegre hosted the media fraternity to demonstrate the new online store platform at the First Steps Venture Centre in Gaborone. Chief executive officer of Intellegere Holdings described BWMADE as a revolutionary new platform that features five different digital shops that will address various types of products that Batswana have to sell.

“We live in an age where the world is our market and BWMADE is a portal that brings this market directly to our retailers” said Garebatshabe

Garebatshabe said the idea came up around the year 2007 solely with the objective to curb the challenge of unavailability of Botswana content in the internet. He said the digital shop platform was created in response to several challenges faced by Batswana in creative fields trying to get their product out to wider markets.

“For instance, in the music industry, digital proves to be an efficient way of distributing music. Botswana fashion designers would be able to take advantage of keeping their overheads low by not having to pay rent for a physical boutique,” he said.

Garebatshabe further explained there would be small variations in the subscription models for the different industries, which would be available on line with their particular needs.

“Besides giving Batswana creatives, a platform to share their products with the world, we aim to create at least 20 – 40 jobs in marketing, store management, website maintenance” said Garebatshabe.

He said BWMADE has much potential for growth in Africa, stating the pride they have to be able to bring the best of Botswana creative products to Africa and the world.” For customers, there are 10 payment methods which the digital store offers, making it a highly accessible service.  Ends
