Yarona FM has announced nominees for the YAMAs 2015 2.0 awards which are aimed at celebrating and recognising deserving music artistes in Botswana and also part of the celebrations of the 16-year journey of Yarona FM. 

The awards are planned to be held at Gaborone International Convention Centre on December 12. 

The radio station revealed that nominee selection was based on the artistes’ performance on the station’s playlist and chart shows, for music which was released between June 2014 and June 2015, was considered during the selection. 

The Iconic Award is to be awarded for the first time and recognise unsung heroes who have helped Yarona FM to be the pervasive brand that it is. 

Chef Gustos, Gaone, Licky, Romeo Stunner, have been nominated for Best New Comer Category.

Best Single Male Category included, Kast-Jealous, Epic-Respect Boy, Chrome-No Track Ya Summer, A.T.I-Ka Ching.

Best Single Female Category, Sasa Klaas-Mmamongwato, Gaone-Kopisa, Amantle-Drop It Down Low, Licky-Free Love.

Best Hip Hop DJ Category, Izzy, Root, Fauz, Macx Wa Bana, Best Hip Hop/Motswako Category, Epic-Respect Boi, Chrome-No Track Ya Summer, B Block-Top Shambole, R Stunner-Milidzani Maboko.

Best Kwaito Category, Amanandos-Attention, MMP Family-Lebala Ka Nna, Eskimos-Cecelia, Franix-They can say.
