Mmatshumo Khumaga for constituency finals

Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC) will host constituency arts competitions finals in Boteti.
Finals will be held at Mmatshumo in Boteti East and at Khumaga in Boteti West on September 19 and 20 respectively. In an interview, MYSC senior programmes officer in Boteti, Kagiso Makoba said the competitions started in 2010 in all constituencies.
Makoba said the traditional instruments category was altered to cater for all ages this year.
“We also want to promote artistic talent both at local and national levels as well as keep the youth away from alcohol abuse and other addictive substances by providing leisure to them with the hope that in the long term we can contribute towards combating HIV and AIDS pandemic through talent and the arts,” he said.
Makoba indicated that competitions had shown sign of growth. Meanwhile, winners at ward level will get P3 000, P2 000 and P1 000 in first, second and third positions respectively in the group category. Individual winners in first, second and third places will pocket P1 500, P1 000 and P750 respectively.
At constituency level, winners will pocket P5 000, P3 000 and P2 000 for first, second and third prizes respectively in the group category while individuals will get P2 500, P1 500 and P1 000 in their respective positions. Ends
