06 Sep 2015

Choral music shows are increasingly becoming a common feature in the entertainment industry. Renowned choirs such as KTM, Maikano Serenaders, Dutch Reformed Church and Trinity displayed immense singing talent during the second Gaborone International Music and Culture recently.

Choral fanatics had a great time at the show as they were treated to a variety of melodious pieces by the four choirs.

Choirs started offering spiritual songs while for the second session they came on stage a bit heated up with more energy as they sang marabi. All choirs displayed amazing talent on stage, but the youthful Maikano Serenaders were outstanding.

The choir showcased thrilling performances, which received much appreciation from the audience.

The Gaborone-West based youthful choir first made its appearance in the choral scenes in 2006, which then followed a launch in June 2007. It took part in various competitions both locally and in the neighbouring countries especially South Africa at the Old Mutual National Choir Festival.

Maikano Serenaders recently got position two at the annual Old Mutual National Choir Festival in South Africa, thus being the first choir to get that position of such magnitude. Ends
