Set to crack infinite boundaries with her soulful velvety voice, Botswana’s international export, Samantha Mogwe, will finally launch her debut 13 track album titled Transition on Friday evening ( August 28) at Botswana Craft.

The Serowe-born youngster who sings neo Soul-R&B is set to thrill her growing fan base with her work, which was produced by Batswana - Favi, Tshepo Lesole, B-Note, Monde and Joe Tanyala.

She said in an interview that she has worked with a wide range of artists such as Sasa Klaas, Zeus, Franklin and BK Proctor to give the album diversity.

“I wanted varied artists to give the album a different feel,” she said hurriedly on her way to rehearsals for the show.

Samantha said for the past two years she has been releasing singles - Transition, You, Jekylle & Hyde, The Chase and  Loud - which have all done exceptionally well on radio charts. She explained that the album is a life journey. It refers to life’s ups and downs, which she said make life interesting.

“Through a deal signed with international distributor, Sony Entertainment, we released the album in April. We also signed with Nix Entertainment, which will handle online distribution,” she said.

Her launch will feature jazz maestro Lister Boleseng, local house sensation Gaone Rantlhoiwa, R&B singer Amantle as well as BK Proctor.

She said that she has received support from both the young and old.

“My music journey has been overwhelming in a good way. I have seen a lot of growth and more opportunities have come my way,” she said.

She is part of the Re Batswana Ensemble, which is set for Norway and Sweden. She has received accolades locally, and has been nominated for the United States AFRIMMA award billed for Dallas Texas in October this year. Ends
