Francistown based, BOPA freelancer, Lucky Doctor is set to launch his fictional novel on the first week of September at Executive Closet Hotel in Francistown. 

Speaking in an interview, the author indicated that the short fictional novel titled Inside New York has long been delayed due to him not finding a suitable publisher to take the 138 -paged short novel to the readers.

Lucky said, he recently signed a two year contract with KabShaz Investment, a local company, therefore giving them the rights to publish, market and sell the novel to Batswana and all over Africa, including exploring international markets. 

KabShaz Investment is a company wholly owned by football player Kabelo Dambe and his partner, Chedza Matshaba. 

Lucky further explained that Dambe’s investment and interest into publishing his novel was far from casual, as the soccer star is on a drive to invest in different businesses to diversify his income.

“Dambe read the novel for the first time on a plane to Uganda with the Zebras national team, and when he came back he could not stop talking about how good the novel was and that is when he offered, through his company to buy the exclusive rights to publish the novel and I agreed,” he said.  

He went on to say that because of the uniqueness of the book in the writing industry of Botswana, the publishers of the book have put in place a robust marketing strategy that will see the book being found in numerous shops across the country. 

“Currently the book has gone for print in New-Delhi, India, where it has proven to be cheaper than printing locally,” said Doctor adding that 200 copies of the book will soon be available for P150 a copy. Speaking about the book, he said it is a short fictional novel about a group of terrorist calling themselves the Yemen Shaheeds.
