Botswana’s fashion power house, GaTsh Fros has added another milestone to its growing and impressive achievements as they have completed an interview with Cable News Network (CNN) for their work as Africa’s most dazzling fashion trend setters.
Speaking in an interview, co-owner of GaTsh Fros, Tsholo Dikobe said the interview would air on CNN DSTV Channel 401 on September 18 on CNN’s programme African Voices.
GaTsh Fros is a fashion brand run by two women, Gaone Mothibi and Dikobe. She further indicated that CNN’s African Voices highlights the continent’s most dazzling trend setters and trail blazers who create their own sub-cultures in areas such as travel, fashion, music, technology and architecture.
“This platform has been very instrumental in raising profiles of outstanding Africans and their impressive contributions to their respective countries,” she said, adding that she and Gaone would treasure the moment as it qualifies as a career highlight.
She said they had the chance to showcase their fashion work to CNN as they created visually appealing fashion imagery to the cable network.
Speaking on their fashion column which appears on The Voice newspaper, Tsholo said the column features the latest fashion trends, promotes the local fashion industry thus increasing visibility and awareness of local retail stores, designers and local models.
“This also provides fashion lovers with affordable global marketing platforms, brand positioning and retail strategies ensuring they are better equipped to carry forward their brand,” she said. Tsholo further said it was through the platform and visionary approach that CNN filmed them while working on a fashion editorial project for The Voice newspaper
She said they got to explore and show their creative identity while integrating Botswana’s fashion and culture, innovation and creative techniques, trends, branding, creative entrepreneurship andsustainability.
Tsholo also said they had the chance to showcase some fashion spots and scenery through places such as the main mall, University of Botswana and the flea market which offers vast fashion items at lower prices.
“The interview acts as a conduit for us to brand a new Botswana where we focus on raiment designs by local designers and will further show Botswana’s unique and impeccable fashion sense,” said Tsholo, adding that it was a great feeling for her and Gaone to be the voice of African fashion.
She said they would use the opportunity as a promotional strategy that would strengthen African fashion to bigger platforms and influence a larger audience to buy African merchandise and embrace its presence in the world of fashion.
“I would like to extend a hearty thank you to everyone who helped us with this interview among them The Voice newspaper, Image Lounge, Brand Botswana, make-up artist, Bojelo Marari, super models Nature Inger and Kaone Monamodi, Botswana designers, Lebo Merafhe, Aobakwe Molosiwa, Botho Chalebgwa, Kaone Moremong, Lorato and Anthony Sefemo,” she said.
