Peleng customary court in Lobatse has fined three women; Laone Sebonego (32), Malebogo Kgosimore (30) and Sheila Basima (44) P150 each for stealing from Choppies supermarket.

In an interview with BOPA on Monday August 3, Kgosi Mpaesele Itumeleng confirmed the case, explaining that the incident happened at  Madiba Mall on July 25, 2015. He said the stolen items included Robertson spices, toiletry and dog collars all valued at P619

He explained that two of the accused persons, Sebonego and Kgosimore who were employees of the supermarket connived with the unemployed Basima to steal the items.

Kgosi Itumeleng said the crime was uncovered by a shop security officer . He said the accused persons pleaded guilty to the charge, adding that he was disappointed by the three accused persons’ act especially, Sebonego and Kgosimore who were employed in the shop.

The stolen items were returned to the supermarket. Ends
