No foul play in death - Supt Foda

Acting station commander of Letlhakane Police station Supt Albert Foda has quashed rumors surrounding the mysterious death of Motsumi Junior Secondary School (JSS) deputy school headmaster.

Various stories and speculations were rife around Letlhakane village concerning Mr Topo Cedric Kerupile's cause of death.Mr Kerupile was found dead at his house in Motsumi JSS.

He confirmed that the police were called to the school after the Deputy School Head had gone missing for a few days. Police officers found him locked in his house and was certified dead at the hospital.

Supt Foda did not suspect any foul play in relation to the case, based on the facts that he had.

He said they did not suspect any suicide as some allege, saying he was constrained to say more and could only reveal that the deputy school head was sick for a while.

Since he passed away in June, stories have been flying thick and fast about the cause of death, with many people claiming that he could have been a victim of crime or foul play.

Superintendent Foda however said there was no cause for alarm and mentioned with a relaxed confidence that he was absolutely certain that there was no foul play.

He said the police only attended to the scene at the teachers’ quarters of Motsumi JSS as the deceased had not been seen nor reported for work for a number of days.

The deceased was laid to rest recently. Motsumi JSS School Head declined to comment saying all communication should be routed through the Regional Education Office in Serowe.

He was only willing to say that only with permission from Serowe will he reveal more details on this macabre incident that had many people talking about his school. Ends
