Faith strongest weapon against all battles

28 Jun 2015

Lobatse mayor, Ms Malebogo Kruger, has encouraged New Look Scripture Union (SU) students to hold on to God and put everything before Him so that they do not undergo failure in life.

Speaking at a donation ceremony by Humble Before Christ International Church to New Look Primary School in Lobatse, Ms Kruger said she was overwhelmed by the “pretty faces of children growing under the love of God.”

Humble Before Christ Church in partnership with Samaritan’s purse International Organisation donated gifts comprising  clothes, shoes, books, stationery and toys.

Ms Kruger told students that they are blessed because they are children of God, and that, because of this blessing, everything shall go their way. She added that nothing shall bring them down as it is God who has lifted them up.

The mayor said it was God’s plan that Humble Before Christ International Church donated gifts which carried a purpose of spreading the light of God amongst the children.

She further said in faith is the right choice as faith is the strongest weapon against challenges, temptations and every battle that could come children’s way.

She urged children to always remember the fifth of the 10 commandments which says ‘Honor your mother and father so that your days may be long on the land that the Lord your God has given you,’ adding they should listen to their parents and refrain from bad behaviour.

Ms Kruger said such events support one of the pillars of Vision 2016 which says we should be a compassionate and caring nation by the year 2016.
When giving a word of encouragement, Reverend Daniel Otlaadisa of Humble Before Christ International said his church donated to the school to show the spirit of compassion.

He said young children are inheritors of the kingdom of God as the word of God says ‘Let the children come to me and do not hinder them for the kingdom of heaven belongs to them.’

Rev. Otlaadisa said for his church and the Samaritan’s Purse organisation, it was a blessing to give to orphans and to the less-privileged, adding that for what they did, their payment awaits them in heaven.

He further said they found it vital to donate to New Look’s SU group because there were some students who were less fortunate and in need, and that either way, the children were God’s.

According to Rev. Otlaadisa, his church is a member of the Samaritan’s Purse which is an international organisation.

He said Samaritan’s Purse donates gifts to churches and churches decide what to do with these gifts, hence his church decided to donate them to the children.

Rev. Otlaadisa encouraged the children to work hard, as education is the key to success and advised them to cling to the teachings of the Lord as they will guide them. He also applauded the teachers for the good course they have undertaken in teaching children the way of the Lord.

Coordinator of the school, Ms Moatlhodi said she was thrilled by the donation as it only happened in rare occasions that the school received such kind of gifts. She said donations of this kind were vital as they promote the spirit of love amongst children and also strengthens their faith, hence bringing them closer to God. Ends
