Botswana France strengthen relations

The President, Lt Gen Seretse Khama Ian Khama returned from a state visit to France on Thursday (June 25) having been there at the invite of French President François Hollande.
The two heads of state discussed bilateral issues on defence, economics, environment, tourism and education. They also singed two Memoranda of Understanding on education and defence.
Botswana's diplomatic relations with France were established in 1967 and France has had a resident mission in Gaborone since July 2001.
