Prosecution to commit Sesike murder case to High Court

23 Jun 2015

Prosecution in a case in which Matshidiso Sesike is accused of murdering her boyfriend in Mmopane last year, says they intend committing the accused to the High Court soon.

This development came shortly after Inspector Modironyana Lekone of Sir Seretse Khama Airport Police Station (SSKA) told the Chief Magistrate Linah Mokibe-Oahile of Village that the pathologist had since released pathology report and that investigations were almost complete.

During the June 22 sitting for regular court update, the court was informed that the docket was with the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for assessment and committal warrant would follow shortly after the director of DPP has appended his signature on the documents.

Sesike was accused of stabbing to death her boyfriend, Kabelo Louw of Ramatlabama whom they stayed together in Mmopane on December 13, 2014.

The couple, who had a hawking business at the Gaborone Bus Station, reportedly had a misunderstanding leading to the woman stabbing the man with a sharp instrument.

Sesike, who was pregnant at the time, was briefly detained before being granted bail. She has since given birth to a baby boy and she briefly went back to her home village of Phitshane Molopo before coming back to continue with her business.

As usual, she told the court that she has nothing to say when she was asked whether she had anything to say before the court. Her next court appearance will be on July 22, 2015. Ends
