Countries feel Botswana culture

The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Botlogile Tshireletso says arts and culture would continue to promote social cohesion, nation building and enhance socio-economic development in all nations and in the commonwealth.
Speaking during a cultural evening hosted for the Commonwealth Local Government delegates at Botswana Craft, Tshireletso said culture should be placed at the center of solidarity and development among countries of the commonwealth, and the destiny of its people.
The fun filled event, same concept with that of the renowned annual Letlhafula festival, was a cultural evening which was part of the conference’s programme.
It was a place where Botswana’s inherent rich creative heritage was displayed through food and music for the visitors to see, appreciate, learn, exchange ideas and enjoy.
Mafitlhakgosi traditional group, as usual, never disappoints at such events, the group enthralled the fully packed Botswana Craft with their thrilling traditional music and dance.
Another traditional dance group, Dipela tsaga Kobokwe, displayed an amazing performance to the appreciation of the visitors.
The peak of the night was when local renowned four string guitarist maestro, Sebongile Kgaile took to the stage; he fascinated everyone with his mastering of different techniques of playing with the strings.
His playing style comprises of techniques such as slapping and tapping with both the left and the right hand which saw people leaving their seats for the dance floor. ENDS
