It was a full house at the President’s Day fashion show competition held at the Kanye Education Centre last weekend.

Multitudes braved the biting cold to witness some of the best works from Southern District’s fashion designers.

Fashion shows are usually for the fashion lover to sample the season’s fashion offerings and enjoy the beauty of the catwalk.  Fashion designer, Teto Macheng won the ladies category followed by Kaone Monamodi and Precious Kabizedi respectively.

The men’s category was won by Kgosi Letebele followed by Thabang Tlhatlogang and Maina Thapedi respectively.

The winners will represent the Southern region at the national competitions.
Officially opening the show, the Director of Education – Operations,  Maipelo Kesenye said the show exposes the talents of Batswana to markets.

She urged Batswana to show their culture through their attire, languages and the arts. She encouraged Batswana to put food on the table by selling their talents and products.

She said Batswana should diversify the country’s economy away from over-dependence on diamonds.
