Probe into singer's murder continues

17 Jun 2015

Investigations on the murder of gospel artist, Mosimanegape ‘Moss’ Mokgwathise are not yet complete.

On Monday (June 15), sub-inspector Legodile Sennafela of Lobatse Police Station pleaded with Magistrate Dipate Mareledi to give state more time after failing to sum up investigations prior to the last mention on May 4, 2015.

He said investigations have not yet been concluded, adding that they have not yet received forensic evidence. He indicated that they are still awaiting more evidence from a mobile network service provider as suspects could have communicated through mobile phones.

Defence attorney, Mr Tebatso Seabueng of Seabueng Attorneys did not oppose the proposal, adding that he would give the state enough time to finish their investigations.

Murder suspects, Yvonne Mokgwathise, who is the deceased's wife, Clifford Nthebolang and Phemelo Thekoetsile are out on bail.

The trio is to appear before Lobatse Magistrate Court again on August 31, 2015.

On March 9 2015, gospel artist Mokgwathise was found dead in his homestead in Mogojogojo with wounds that suggested that he may have been been struck with an object. Ends
