Tati River Lodge in Francistown will next week Friday (June 19) host the comedy and poetry night.

According to a press release from Crystal Matters, stand-up comedians and enthusiastic poets from both Botswana and South Africa will showcase their talent to bring nothing but a night filled with entertainment and laughter.

The aim of hosting such a show lied in the motive of creating awareness about stand-up comedy and poetry as alternative forms of entertainment abundant in Botswana, said the release.

This event, the release further stated, also attempted to bring Botswana’s comedians and poets to par with international acts.

Headliner comedian line up includes Phenyo ‘The Master’ Phaladi and Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware from Botswana’s very own Major Moves Comedy, while South Africa will be represented by the superb and award winning Mashabela Galane.

Furthermore the release states that the two comics, Mawee from Gabane and Phenyo from Mochudi recently performed in South Africa at the monthly Tips & Friends show and Strictly Come Laughing event.
It says the highly energetic, fun and clever duo, who have promised the audience fresh material, have also participated in the inaugural Francistown Comedy & Poetry Night.

On the other hand, the lineup of headliner poets includes South Africa’s prolific Dr Mohlouoa Ntsasa, who is not only a poet laureate, but also a novelist, a motivational speaker, an acclaimed linguist, a celebrated actor, and an academic as well. Dr Ntsasa is also a world record breaker of Palindrome Poem.

Also featured in this second Annual Francistown Comedy & Poetry Night are up and coming comedians and poets from the northern city and surrounding areas.

The show will commence at 8pm and web tickets valued at P100 per person are readily available at Tati River Lodge. Ends
