Court postpones trial due to unavailability of interpreter

The trial of Calvin Ramatlhape and Amogelang Modisaotsile was postponed to April 4 due to unavailability of a court Interpreter.

Chief Magistrate Lenah Mokibe-Oagile postponed the case saying the duo needed an interpreter so as to defend themselves accordingly.

The two were further remanded in custody until they appear for another mention. The prosecutor, Mr Kabelo Nkwe did not oppose the postponement.

Meanwhile, the duo appeared at the Extension II Magistrate Court on another charge of escaping from lawful custody.

In September last year, the two escaped from a police vehicle which was transporting them from court back to Gaborone maximum prison after a mention on a charged of robbery and that of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

They pleaded guilty to the charges and they would be sentenced on April 4. ENDS
