I Am legend concert lives up to expectations

May 29, will go down in Gaborone as the day Batswana got what they bargained for as artists brought the newly built Molapo Piazza down with world class performances.
Live music has always been something that music fans wanted and it was done so well on Friday night.
For a whole month, there was hype with the I am Legend Concerts as they were set to bring South African artists The Soil, Vusi Nova and Don Laka and they did not disappoint one bit. The night started off with Mmaphala, a local artist and she did her best to open up for the rest of the artists that were to follow.
The only thing that was kind of embarrassing was when the MC for the night walked onto the stage while she was still performing to tell her that her time was up. Mmaphala did her best not to get angry but she was clearly annoyed, but nonetheless she did her best and people were impressed with her.
In came Lizibo, known to his legion of fans as the Prince of Kalanga Cool and his entrance was nothing short of impressive. With girls dressed in all white and making a guard of honour for him, the little man did what he does best.
Lizibo has truly grown into a remarkable artist and with time and hard work, he will surely go places. Touted as the late Gomolemo Motswaledi’s protégé, he has not disappointed when it comes to his music and his all-round persona.
“He is such a sweet person and o maitseo gore,” chipped in one fan as he performed his set.
What was impressive with him is that his routine was choreographed and it was evident that the lad takes his craft very seriously and does not leave anything to chances.
Not taking anything away from Lizibo, the night surely belonged to crowd favourite, The Soil.
Made up of three members, Buhlebendalo Mda (Soil Sister), Ntsika “Fana-tastic” Ngxanga and Luphindo Ngxanga (Master P), the trio is nothing short of top notch. Words do not do justice to what they do on stage and for one to understand it they have to witness it live.
They blew everyone away and it was no surprise that the crowd chanted that they come back after they were done. Witnessing The Soil on stage is truly something special and since it was their second time in Botswana, they will surely come back.
They are blessed with such raw talent and they are great at what they do. Vusi Nova also held his own and the ladies seemed to be taken with him.
It must be said that I am Legend Concerts outdid themselves and Molapo Piazza continues to impress with its spacious arena and sound system. Ends
