Four die in a blaze

Maun police are investigating a fire incident that claimed the life of a 61-year-old woman and her three grandchildren in Komana near Maun.
According to Senior Superintendent Chabaesele Kesupetswe, the ordeal happened on May 5 at around 4am. He said the woman, a 12-year-old boy, who was a pupil at Komana Primary School and a four-year-old girl were confirmed dead at the hospital.
Furthermore, a boy of about two and half years, who suffered extreme burns was still alive when they were rescued, but died at Letsholathebe II Memorial hospital in the evening of the same day.
Senior Sup. Kesupetswe said a police officer in Komana reported that the victims were sleeping in a tent and the neighbours found the tent ablaze when they woke up. He said investigations were ongoing while the bodies of the deceased were awaiting postmortem at Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital.
Meanwhile, Maun police are investigating a store break-in and theft case, which happened on May 3. About P65 000 was reported stolen from an Indian store located at Maun Old Mall. ENDS
