Masakeng Rec Park will host the first-ever Kgatleng Meat Festival this coming Saturday (April 25).

The event has sparked much interest among Bakgatla, meat enthusiasts and entertainment gurus in and around greater Gaborone.

It will include a variety of activities that range from horse riding, kiddies games, 5-Aside Soccer Tourney and live jazz performances by various jazz and motswako artists.The entertainment line-up will include the likes of Scar, Mosako and Skizza, and the crowds will be serenaded on the decks by Botswana’s finest DJ’s, Mochovas Finest, Dj Sly, Easy B, Dj Khuchi, Crispin The Drummer and German D amongst others.

One of the organisers of the event, Easy B said most Batswana knew that a meat festival was all about enjoying delicacies of meat cuisines. He said the tickets include a package for meat for braai which will be offered at the entrance of the venue, and other delicacies such as serobe and seswa will be available for sale at the venue.

“This will be the first ever annual Kgatleng Meat Festival, so I will urge Batswana to come in large numbers to enjoy meat of all kinds, take their families on an outing as there will be different activities for men, women and children,” he said.

Easy B also stated that the show is the first of its kind to grace Kgatleng, and gates will be opened at 10am till late, and urged all Bakgatla, Gaborone city dwellers and many Batswana to come and enjoy meat and music.

Tickets will be available at Spar Mochudi, Airport Junction, and Kgale and Riverwalk ticket kiosk and will sell for P120, while at the gate they will be P150. Kids will pay P40 and tickets are limited so Batswana should hurry, or pay at the gate, he said.Further, this event will also be a platform to promote cultural exchanges through music, food and dress on a Saturday morning from 10am until late.
