Northern letlhafula festival Saturday
23 Apr 2015
Ebat Guest Lodge in Tati Siding will on Saturday (April 25) host the annual Northern Letlhafula Cultural Festival (NLCF).
According to a press release from organisers, the event which would be aimed at promoting culture and tradition will once again repeat its mandate of promoting cultural appreciation and preservation.
It also stated that the event was expected to mesmerise participants with the mouth-watering and well promoted traditional cuisines which comprise mainly, Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB) ingredients.
According to the release, NLCF has proudly shown rapid growth over the years gaining recognition and sponsorship from the community of the Greater Francistown Area, BAMB, Botswana Tourism Organization (BTO) and the Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture (MYSC).
Furthermore, the release highlighted that audiences will be entertained by traditional dance troupes. The cultural festival which is on its 9th year has shown a lot of potential, however, it still faces challenges such as adequate funding.
The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Mr Thapelo Olopeng, is expected to be the keynote speaker.
Preparations for the cultural event, says the release, are on-going and this year it is expected that over 500 patrons would attend. Tickets for the event are sold at EBAT Guest lodge outlet in Tatisiding as well as within the city of Francistown. ENDS
