Comedy show March 27

The third annual International Heavyweight Comedy Festival (IHCOFEST) is slated for March 27 in Gaborone.

The much anticipated show will be headlined by South Africa’s top notch funny men, Conrad Koch and Chester Missing.

IHCOFEST will also feature Botswana’s most funny and acclaimed stand-up comedian Bafana ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi, alongside top female comic Kelekwang ‘Rekunde’ Mophaleng, 2012 President’s Day Champion Odirile Brooks, Phenyo ‘The Master’ Phaladi and 2014 President’s Day Champion Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware.

There will also be talents from other countries such as Mapuru ‘Cura’ Makara from Lesotho and Peter Royston from Zimbabwe. Show headliner, Conrad Koch is one of South Africa’s most in demand comedy talents and also the winner of the 2010 Entertainer of the Year award.

He combines hilarious comedy with world-class puppetry, and had done so for over 15 years to local and international acclaim. Conrand had worked all over the world, featured on local and international television and was a frequent guest at some of South Africa’s biggest comedy events such as the Comics Choice Awards, Blacks Only, the Smirnoff Comedy Festival, the Vodacom Comedy Festival and Metro FM Comedy Experience among others.

Major Moves events coordinator, Gaolathe Kediemetse said the upcoming show would benefit local comedy industry through comedy workshops that will be conducted by Conrand while in the country. He said as Major Moves, at every show, they had always introduced and given chance to upcoming local comedians to share stage with top acts.

The third IHCOFEST will see Ommusitse ‘Stix’ Magacha all the way from Maun given the chance to showcase his high energy, fun and clever comedy.Stix first featured at the Cracker Night show while this will be his first time sharing a stage with international comics. ENDS
