Murder accused appears again March 23

17 Mar 2015

Francistown magistrate, Ms Robin Sethantsho, has set March 23 as mention date for a case in which Mompoloki Mathaba (33) is facing a murder charge

Mathaba is accused of killing his 32-year-old girlfriend in Kgaphamadi in Francistown on February 9.

Magistrate Sethantsho said if the psychiatric report would still not yet available, she might consider giving the accused bail. Her remarks followed a plea by the accused that he should be given bail because he was looking after a standard three child.

The state counsel, Ms Wedu Mbongwe told the court that the prosecution was still awaiting psychiatric report in order to proceed with the matter.

Mathaba’s appearance in court followed an incident in which a decomposed body of a woman was found in Kgaphamadi location in Francistown on February 9. The body was allegedly found after a tip off by the deceased’s neighbours. ENDS
