Moalakgang makes comeback

Thirty-two-year-old Dithuso Seboyakhudu, known in music circles as Moalakgang, did not give-up when his 2009 debut album Manaabotshelo did not do well in the market.
As they say learning from one’s mistakes, coupled with perseverance and hardworking are the ingredients for one to climb the ladder of success, Moalakgang is today force to reckon with in the music industry.
His love for traditional music having begun in 1998 while he was still at junior secondary school, he has been a member of the Kwena traditional group based at Mahalapye since 2008.
It was while at Kwena traditional dance troupe that Moalakgang entertained thoughts of going solo, the dream that manifested in 2009 and culminated in the release of his first offering. Unfortunately he failed to enjoy the fruits of his labour as the album did not do well in the market.
The Lotlhakane East bred artiste’s never-say-die attitude saw him through and he is today pinning his hopes on the just to be released blazing album Mmalabadi which will be launched in Kanye in due course.
This year Moalakgang comes back with guns blazing with the intentions to redeem his pride with an eight track album. His face beams with euphoria at the mention of this album, a fusion of traditional choral and Borankana music.
“I can proudly declare this to be my best offering so far,” he says of the album recorded, mixed and mastered at Jones’s Studio located in Ranaka.
Asked about the songs and the concept behind them he says of the first track named Legakwa that it is a compliment to the late Kgosi Seepapitso IV’s good deeds at the helm of the Bangwaketse chieftancy.
The second song Mmalobopo challenges those who like interfering in other people’s love affairs to stay away from the mischievous behavior. The last track, Moalakgang is a tribute to traditional doctors known for their rain making exploits.
Moalakgang has challenged other traditional artists to disseminate messages to listeners rather than just entertaining them. ENDS
