An upcoming producer and DJ, Tebo Baipoledi affectionately known as DJ Silva-T has released a single house gospel song called Calvary.

In an interview, the Kanye-born star explained that his single house gospel song was first released in 2010 as a deep house track, titled Roots, which is a genre close to most youth’s hearts.

Last year he rejuvenated it by bringing in some gospel vocals, as a way of catering for all ages. DJ Silva-T also explained that he mixed it with gospel because gospel is a true foundation of lives. The song was composed and produced by Silva-T and it was recorded by talented Tebza who owns a mini studio in Kanye.

The 27-year-old creative deejay narrated that his music career started in 2009 following his close friendship with Low Jazz who was a famous Dj during those days. Low Jazz is the one who enlightened me with some aptitudes of how to play various music genres, he explained. He said he derives his inspiration in the music industry from Black-Coffee.

Silva-T revealed that he has shared the stage with some legends like Dj Sly, Sasa Klass, Team Distant, La Timmy, Gong Master, Vee and the crowd responded very well as they were thrilled by his performance. “I have produced for some legends like Dj Fondo Fire and Mawizzy who is a “Tswakaragga” artist, that is a mixture of Motswako and Ragga,”added Silva-T.

However Silva-T can also produce various music genres such as Traditional, Hip-Hop, Afro Pop, Gospel, Kwaito as well as Motswako music.
“Music is my full time career; I do perform at the Ark club and Meribo bar as well as Deejaying in social gatherings like parties and weddings. In the future I would like to hear my song playing beyond boarders,” he added.

Silva-T said piracy is a stumbling block in the music industry which needs to be uprooted, but he is happy with work done by the Copyright Society of Botswana in protecting artists’ work.
