Man swindles two
08 Mar 2015
Francistown police are investigating allegations that two youths aged 24 are suspected to have stolen money from their employer with the intention to multiply it through the services of a certain man.
Superintendent Lebalang Maniki of Central Police confirmed that the suspects were arrested recently after a shop owner became suspicious about the state of coffers in his business. He said the shop owner realised that the duo did not save the cash amounting to P14 500 from the shop as was the norm.
The duo was said to have taken the money to a certain conman in Block 4, whom they believed would increase the money.
Superintendent Maniki said it had shown that the duo planned to meet the conman after his demonstration of how to increase P100 to be P300. He said after the conman’s display to increase the money, they became interested and decided to meet him with the money.
The alleged conman then disappeared, leaving the duo with an egg in the face. Superintendent Maniki said they were looking for the conman and advised Batswana to watch out for such deceitful individuals. ENDS
