Sandra is Miss Millennium 2015

Indeed life begins at 40, the beauty and radiance of 12 women all 40 years and above dazzled audiences at the most sought out beauty pageant this Saturday (February 14).

The annual Miss Millennium beauty pageant was a high class event that celebrated women and this year it was up a notch. To embrace the renascence of the Setswana culture, the women looked poised and flawless in their first parade, wearing the traditional German Prints and shawl also known as mogagolwane. 

Also they wooed the crowed with staging the celebratory ceremony of Dikgafela where people would gather around in the Kgotla giving praises to the Kgosi for a good harvest.

With traditional storages of ditlatlana and leselo on their heads, the women embraced our culture through dance, dress and songs. In addition, the second parade saw the 12 finalist dressed in attires that inspired their career paths when they were young. From the soldier outfit, to the mechanic, teacher and lawyer, with one of the contestants also parading as the Assistant Minister Botlogile Tshireletso likewise as she is a woman of class and calibre, the audience were mesmerized by the choice of the women’s careers.

This was done to demonstrate the chosen career that women got inspiration from and therefore honouring women in these spheres. To add a nice touch to the evening, and to reconnect with the theme of the day, they lastly looked stunning in red, black and maroon ball gown dresses to embrace Valentine’s Day. The moment of truth came when the women were cut into the top 6 and asked random questions that affect women in the modern day society.

Finally, the top three were chosen out of the top six and three women who the crowd roared behind made it to the top three. The 2nd Princess of Miss Millennium 2015 went to Charity Ntebang who is a renowned singer and dancer; while1st princess went to Sefela Modisenyane the 48 old mother of one and grandmother of one. 

Miss Millennium 2015 went to one of the youngest participants, Sandra Ramanteba, at only 40 years old, she is no stranger to the ramp, and a finalist at Miss Botswana, and Miss Universe Botswana in her youthful years, Sandra demonstrated that age is nothing but a number as she got the crown. ENDS
