Play Houz Theatre releases DVD

The Play Houz Theatre Group has released and launched a DVD titled Baa Di Dira that portrays the life style of Francistown residents.
Officiating at the DVD launch in Francistown recently, Tati Town Customary Court president, Kgosi Edward Showa appreciated the idea of the youth film industry. Showa stated that working as a team was one of the greatest challenges amongst humans due to the fact that a team consists of people of different persuasions.
“What you have established is a business and it has its ups and downs and do not expect it to be smooth sailing all the time,’’ he advised. He urged the group to be dedicated as they climb the ladder of success because at times they would have to compromise and support each other.
Showa said the youth as leaders of tomorrow; it was pleasing to see Francistown youth exposing their acting talents. He acknowledged the 12 member group’s efforts in coming up with the idea of putting their township on the map through portraying real life experiences through theatre.
Furthermore, Kgosi Showa urged parents and leaders to support those who demonstrated interests in creating opportunities for themselves. Kgosi Showa encouraged them to set high standards and not to waste their time on negative feedback, emphasising unity amongst the group.
Speaking during the launch, the group’s spokesperson, Mr Kefilwe Dierenge said the groups’ main aim was to grow the film industry in Botswana.
He said the DVD aimed at promoting the acting talents of Francistown youth. “The group wants to give hope and convince all those with hidden acting talents to come forward and use their talents as a livelihood,” he said. ENDS
