Police investigate stabbing incident

Gumare police are investigating a case in which a 31-year-old man of Bothatogo ward allegedly stabbed a 29-year-old woman at Legonono ward on January 29.
The station commander, Superintendent Phillip Lopang said in an interview that the matter was reported to them by the victim’s sister. He said it was alleged that the sister was sleeping when she heard the victim screaming.
She rushed to the victim's house where she found her lying in a pool of blood following an alleged attack by the ex-boyfriend.
The victim is recuperating at the hospital. Supt Lopang said the man was arrested and remanded in custody. He will appear before Gumare Magistrate Court on February 12 for unlawful wounding.
Still in Gumare, police are investigating a case in which a 30- year-old man of Makakung settlement was found dead in a bathroom on Sunday morning. The man was given accommodation by a friend .
Supt Lopang said the man was said to have asked for accommodation from a friend on Saturday. He woke up in the morning to wash his car and afterwards took a bath. He said after a while the host checked on the man only to find him unconscious in a bath. The man was certified dead at the hospital. Ends
