Miss Millennium to be bigger better

The annual Miss Millennium beauty pageant scheduled for February 14 has escalated hype amongst Batswana.
In its eighth year running, Miss Millennium, is a beauty pageant with a purpose as the reigning queen is engaged in various community development initiatives and charitable events from Mogoditshane to as far as Moshaneng.
Speaking at the launch of Miss Millennium 2015, the coordinator, Zenzele Hirschfeld stated that the pageant had grown over the years producing ambitious strong and confident women. She said that throughout the years it has reach greater heights from a dream where women came to entertain themselves.
“It is for an ordinary Motswana woman above the age of 40 years old, and those who never got the privilege to be beauty queens at a younger age. It ignites a certain flame in every woman, bringing out their confidence, outer and inner beauty,” she said.
Hirschfeld said as a norm to bring something new and exciting every year to the pageant, they would host prominent women, who would share business ideas and survival skills with contestants on February 7.
Another twist to the event is that the contestants will choose a career that inspired them and show cased it in a garment. In addition, the price money and prizes for the pageant have grown over the years with Miss Millennium 2014 scooping P3 000 and beauty vouchers as well as a holiday for two in Maun.
In addition, Shima Monageng, the director of Millennium Jazz Restaurant stated that the beauty pageant differs from others as it has substance and difference. “Miss Millennium will always be Miss Millennium, she continues to perform good deeds around her community even after her reign,” he said.
He said they wanted to expand the brand to other areas and host it in high profile venues to ensure its growth year after year.
Since the pageant will be held on Valentine’s Day, the day’s theme will be red, and also to cater for the love birds there will be a couple’s corner. On February 7, there will be an unveiling of 15 contestants for this year’s event, whose entrance fee is P50. ENDS
