Two men have appeared before Gumare Magistrate Court in connection with the recent murder of a 19-year-old woman, Ms Kamogelo Maxao of Legonono ward.

The particulars of the case are that on the night of January 17, the two unemployed youngsters, Othagile Kanelo (19) and Aobakwe Ovuya (20) both of Bothatogo ward in Gumare, murdered Ms Maxao.

The prosecutor, Sub Inspector Kamogelo Olatotse asked Magistrate Onneile Ntwayapelo to remand the suspects as the case was still fresh and the investigations were still on going. He expressed fear that should they be granted bail, they may interfere with investigations.

Magistrate Ntwayapelo remanded the suspects and set another mention date for February 19 and advised the accused persons to seek legal advice if they so wished.

The first accused, Kanelo told the court that he will be representing himself while Ovuya promised to be represented on the matter. Meanwhile, the deceased was laid to rest at her home village of Gumare on January 24. ENDS
