Breakthrough at last for hip hop dance

01 Dec 2014

When Sudzani France started recording his demo Hip hop Dance-hall album in 2006, at House of Rising Stars in Zimbabwe, it was not easy as he faced financial constraints.

His chosen route needed endurance and faith because his demo album was not converted into a fully-fledged album. Speaking in an interview recently, he said it was sub-standard and needed to be polished in order to reach the global standards.

Moreover, he also had financial constraints that gave him a chance to take a break from doing music and finding official employment in order to substantiate his talent.

The soft spoken France stated that in 2008, after getting some hints and advice from Solomon ‘Chase’ Mabutho of Bon Fella Records. After that he went to Bad News Studio in Francistown and did another demo album.

He was delighted by its outcome, stressing that it was more improved than the previous one; however, before he could do a full album, he was involved in a car accident that forced him to take another break.

It was only in 2012 after his recovery that he took his demo album from Bad News Studio and recorded a single title ‘The life I went through’ at Bon Fella Records.

He said the single was sent to various radio stations and he managed to perform it at YOHO roadshows, the President Day’s competitions’ preliminary stages and at a function at Galo shopping mall.

In 2013, his legion of fans and producers such as Mabutho pressurised him to do something about his music talent. That pressure together with the enlightenment and insight into music forced him to record another single in 2014 titled ‘The Power of love.’

The single, which is a Hip Hop Dance-hall genre and has a video, features Starr Luu and was produced by Mabutho at Bon Fella Records. He feels satisfied with his single and has stressed that it is a promotional compilation, which paves way for a complete album that will be produced next year.

His single has accumulated more likes on Facebook, Twitter and You tube and receives phone calls and emails from most countries in Southern Africa and as far as Australia and United States of America (USA).

This, he noted, gives him the zeal to complete his album and satisfy the needs of a legion of his followers.

Moreover,  he stated that he envisages Hip Hop Dance-hall genre as the future of music, stressing that although hip hop and dance hall are familiar on their own account, their combination is an innovation that will take him far in the music industry.

He also stressed that he expresses himself in English and that gives him the opportunity to reach global listeners.

However, he urged local radio stations to play local music as long as it is quality and worth listening to. He praised Mabutho for being patient and considerate about his talent, adding that he gave him his time whole-heartedly and encouraged him to pursue his talent.ENDS
