After many years in the music industry producing hit albums for various artists in various genres, BK Proctor decided to finally produce his own album.

With his vast knowledge and experience in the music industry, BK Proctor said he decided to produce his duet album as the next chapter in his career. 

He said the album was set to re-position the course of urban music in Botswana, and the masterpiece of duets had already released two singles in Good Morning in which he collaborated with South African legendary jazz muso Jimmy Dludlu and Botswana’s internationally acclaimed house producers Groove Cartell and other singles. 

There was also a remake of the hit track O Tlhokana le Nna originally by Lister Boleseng.   In O tlhokana le Nna, Bk did not take way much of the originality of the song but rather put in modern elements to make it a hit once again for the young and seasoned fans of Lister Boleseng. 

Of Jimmy Dludlu, BK had nothing but praises for him saying he is a happy soul and easy to work with. 

“It was an amazing experience to be in the studio with such a highly talented and respected musician,” states BK, adding that he had thought Jimmy would be strict and edgy with the type of sound he wanted, but amazingly he respected and allowed him to be creative.

The Masterpiece of Duets will surely be one of his most brilliant and prolific work that displays Botswana music across genres.  When releasing this album, BK says the aim was to pay homage to local music as well as put the industry’s best talents on a platform that the world can marvel at. 

He has worked with the likes of Mxolisi Jackson, Lister Boleseng, Tshepo Lesole, Cedric and Pastor Molf, Dr Tawanda, Sasa Klaas, Samantha Mogwe, as well as producers and engineers like Joe Tanyala, Kapenda Katuta, TCM of Groove Cartell and many more local talented artists. 

The variety and versatility of these artists meant producing the best album for Batswana to appreciate and cherish, says BK, adding that as a producer he had to be in charge of everything.  Being a producer and a great one means having a wide range of responsibilities but primarily overseeing the creation of music, he adds.

The directing and guiding part also is the sole role of the producer in order to have a great album, and adaptation to any musical condition, circumstances, trials and tribulations, and still managing to put out a great piece is what makes a great producer and a great album in the end.

Masterpiece of Duets album is available in stores and already enjoying airplay. ENDS
