Fans of Motswako music will, on November 21, experience the best of Botswana and South African Motswako artists as they are set to perform at the new fresh Molapo Piazza.

Dubbed Motswako invasion, director of the event, Massie Hule said the event was conceptualised in 2011 but took a long break while everything was being put in motion.

“The whole concept is called Colours of Sound and this time around it is themed around Motswako, however there will be disc jockeys (Dj’s) to break the monotony of Motswako artists,” he said. He said the event is set to host the biggest line-up of Motswako artist the country has ever seen.

“It is the first time in Botswana where Motswako greats from both Botswana and South Africa will meet on one stage,” he said adding that social networks are already abuzz with excitement of the event.

Motswako invasion is set to be the first event to be hosted at the freshly refurbished Molapo Crossing mall and will be hosted at the Molapo Piazza. The star line up consists of South African music heavyweights Hip Hop Pantsula, Khuli Chana, Tuks Senganga, Mo’ Molemi, Towdee Mac, Notshi, Fifi Cooper, Eze-lap, Kit Kat.

“From Botswana we are going to have Zeus, K-Bos, Mosako, Sasa Klaas, Dramaboi, Ozi F Teddy and as for the Djs it will be Thasman, Khenzo, Lemonka, Fauz, Izzy, Ricky Lamar and Ydj,” he said.

He further said the venue takes up to 4 000 people, with huge sound and lighting, a Porsche VIP section that overlooks the stage and multiple entry exit points making it easy for security to direct foot traffic. Prices for tickets are VIP P300, Golden Circle P150 and General Area P150.

Hule indicated that the General Area ticket admits two people and tickets are available at WebTickets, Spar as well as appointed agents at tertiary institutions in Gaborone. ENDS
