They got style, skill and talent; these are the military boys when they are not on their normal duty.

The Botswana Defence Force members displayed an amazing performance at this year’s annual BDF Bands in Concert Style which started on Friday November 7 at Mogoditshane Barracks.

The exciting show was graced by His Excellency the President of Botswana, Lt. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama, Members of the Diplomatic Corp, Cabinet Ministers and other senior government officials.

The BDF Bands in Concert Style is an initiative started in 1991 by the then BDF Commander Lt. Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama with the aim to generate funds to assist the disadvantaged members of society.

BDF, through its Band Wing, annually engages on a national tour where the bands perform in major cities and towns of the country in a bid to raise funds for charity.

The 24th BDF Bands in Concert Style attracted masses who did not regret their time and money spent on the show as they were treated to a variety of musical performances.

The BDF band could play any genre of music, be it rhumba, disco, mbaxanga, hip hop, and many more.

They enthralled the audience with their sensational performance of a disco piece by Thabile Mozolwane dubbed Dumazile.

There were screams all over the SSKB auditorium as the dancers did what they know best to the Dumazile song, with their well-choreographed dance moves.

Corps of Engineers also fascinated the audience with a superb traditional dance performance.

The show lived up to people’s expectations as the band also performed a medley of songs, and one should bear in mind that all the songs were played live.

The 24th BDF Bands in Concert Style will move to Selebi Phikwe on November 15 and 16; Francistown on November 21 and 22; Serowe on November 28 and 29; Jwaneng on December 5 and 6; then the tour will culminate in Kanye on December 12 and 13. ENDS
