Mi Casa returns to BotswanaCraft

06 Nov 2014

South African house band, Mi Casa will today (November 7) set the BotswanaCraft stage alight with their return to Botswana courtesy of this year’s fourth installment of the Mascom Live Sessions.

Famous for their hit tracks Heavenly Sent and Jika, the trio first came to prominence in early 2011 with their debut album Micasa Music, featuring their hit single These Streets, which put them on the map and as they say, their music journey and story, is still being written.

Along with Mi Casa, Botswana’s very own hip hop and Channel O award winner Game “Zeus” Bantsi along with Dj Kuchi will take to the stage to do what they do best.

The Mascom Live Sessions, which are on their 24th installment have in the past featured musical giants such as Oliver Mtukudzi, Ringo and Bongo Maffin to name a few.

In an interview, Oliver Groth of Botswanacraft said patrons should expect an exhilarating performance as always. “With the recently sold out show featuring Oliver Mtukudzi and Culture Spears, we are not expecting anything less,” he said.

He said the Mascom Live Sessions hardly ever disappoint when it comes to top notch live performances. “People should get their tickets soon and avoid last minute disappointments,” he said.  Tickets are sold at Botswanacraft for P250 per person.

The trio, which comprises of J-Something (vocalist and guitarist), Dr Duda (producer and keyboardist) and Mo-T (trumpeter), are a force to reckon with.

The band has gone on to open for a number of major international acts, including The Layabouts, Reel People, Tortured Soul, and YMCMB’s Canadian Hip Hop recording artist Drake. For the local lads, Zeus will look to further cement his place in Botswana hip hop folklore.

Having won three Channel O awards so far, Zeus is a huge player in the local musical scene and Africa, since his time in the Big Brother house. Dj Kuchi will keep the crowd on their feet with his mixes and songs, and people will have a super time. ENDS
