Comedy tour starts October 31

Comedy enthusiasts around the county should prepare themselves for non-stop laughter as the fourth annual Major Moves Comedy tour starts October 31.
The All Star Comedy Tour will be a 7-town comedy series, which is set to build capacity while elevating standup comedy to mainstream level in the country’s entertainment sector.
The tour is bringing hilarious moments to towns around the country with Botswana’s most funny and acclaimed stand-up comedians and also introducing upcoming comics at the same time.
It kicks off in Gaborone at Cresta President Hotel on October 31 where 2014 President’s Day Celebrations winner in comedy, Mawee will also be shooting his one man DVD. The show will move to Orapa on November 1, and will then proceed to Lobatse on November 7, followed by Selibe Phikwe on November 8 at Cresta Bosele Hotel.
In Mahalapye, the show will be at Ozone on November 9 while the grand finale will be held in Kasane and Maun on the 28th and 29th of November respectively.
Media Liaison Officer for Major Moves Comedy, Norman Proctor said the tour will feature workshops for upcoming comedians who are interested in sharpening their comedic skills and event organising repertoire. He said the main target for the workshops is to have at least 3 female comedians per workshop.
The upcoming tour will feature performances from top local comics in the likes of Oefile ‘Mawee’ Mokgware, Phenyo ‘The Master’ Phaladi, Augustus ‘Legusty’ Mokgadi, Paphani ‘Paps’ Masalila, Kelly ‘Rekunde’ Mophaleng and South African guests Themba ‘Jazzbuda’ Nhlapo and Kagiso ‘Crazy Kay’ Sedumedi.
Proctor said there would also be different headliners for the shows such as Modiri ‘Mod’ Keseabetswe, Bafana ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi, and Odirile Brooks. ENDS
