Nono unleashes Rantshekgwane
21 Oct 2014
Afro jazz sensation, Nono Siile, is at it again, this time around with the Rantshekgwane album.
In her new six track album, Nono worked with high profile producers such as Oscar and Blessing Chamba who also produced different projects for the legendary Oliver Mutukudzi.
The album was released this month and it has a track dubbed Borokgo jwa Izaura which proved to be a hit at the album’s listening session last week. Other tracks in the album included Gagonaope, I believe, Borre and Ntshupe.
Since Nono released her debut album titled Kgarebe in 2007, she has managed to grow her brand and worked with different established artists. Her contemporary music found good reception across ages and her multilingual ability saw her recording songs in Shona, Kalanga and Setswana, something which broadened her scope of audience.
The former member of Ladies of Jazz’ voice has also featured in all Ikalanga jazz pioneer Ndingo Jhowa’s albums,. She has also lent her vocal harmony skills to different artists including in Lister Boleseng’s Life is Journey.
In 2003, Nono collaborated with another celebrated jazz sensation, Punah Gabasiane-Molale to come up with more than just a musical collaboration, but a registered organisation with an objective to improve the lives of the disadvantaged through charity. Ends
