Mtukudzi graces Mascom Live Sessions

The Mascom Live Sessions are back. Oliver Mtukudzi who will once again grace the BotswanaCraft stage alongside Culture Spears.

The sessions are now synonymous with BotswanaCraft and have been going on for a couple of years and they have proved to be a crowd puller for musical fans and always a success at bringing top notch live performances.

They have undoubtedly become a platform for adult contemporary music lovers to converge and enjoy serenading tunes in a relaxed environment. With previous performances by, among others, Freshlyground, Lira, Zahara and Bongo Maffin, had been crowd pullers, one would not be faulted for being optimistic about Friday’s show.

With over 60 albums to his name, Mtukudzi will surely serenade people with his past, present and new material to his already impressive track record.

Speaking in an interview regarding the two acts for the show, Oliver Groth, managing director of BotswanaCraft, said Culture Spears have captured the hearts of many the world over, but mostly Africans. “They will definitely pull a crowd in their own right and their traditional music has always been well received,” he said.

“Mtukudzi once performed alongside our very own Shanti Lo and even last year he was here,” he said. Groth indicated that tickets had been selling thick and fast and they go for P250 in advance.

“In the past people waited for the last day to buy tickets and this provided a problem for us and unnecessary traffic,” he said, urging people to purchase their tickets on time.

He said that as always, security and the wellbeing of patrons would be a priority. “They will be safe as always, and their cars too will be safe and they should just worry about their dancing shoes,” he said. Ends
