The first ever fashion mentor fashion show, kick started with young designers showcasing the Summer/Spring Collection in Gaborone on September 5.

The much hyped up show included young designers mentored by some upcoming fashion stars in the industry Bon Web, the sassy Kandida Tsheko, and Tlhalefang Moketsi.

Lights camera followed the collection as Alice Jonas took to the stage her six pieces of her vibrant collection to the stage, inspired by the beauty of a peacock adorning its beauty and colorful tale.

The 15-year-old talented Alice depicted that age is nothing but a number when it comes to fashion. Her first model, wore a yellow raffled dress with an interesting see through details to add a touch of couture.

Men were also incorporated in her collection with one leg pants that had bright accessories circles of orange, black and her signature color yellow.

The designer mentioned that despite being inspired by the beauty of this bird she also wanted to add a messy and young touch to her collection.

Another collection was by 17-year-old Sibusiswe Mwlinga who named her collection Nkosi B known as King B. For her collection, she said that she wanted to make something new, unique and sophisticated.

She noted that black and white fused with African prints for that sheer and ready to wear look. Models walked the ramp with high waist tops, hip skirts and men wore knee height shorts patted with the prints and open shirts. Women also rocked black lacy tops and men hooded with a touch of modern day funky collar tops.

While these young designers exhibited talent and sophistication to their designs, two young rappers by the name TSD crew blazed the crowd with some hip hop jams.

Theresa Jonas, who is a twin to Alice also rose to the occasion with red her bright red clothing, polka dotted one leg pants, skinny pants for men and short tail pinned to their pants to add a funky detail.

Other designers included Abigale T who sought inspiration from tie and dye and culture. Her clothes were mostly bright browns, boob tube dresses, white cropped leggings and floral shirts with flapped details.
