Fashion enthusiasts geared up on the blistering winds on Friday evening (August 29) for the glitz and glamorous Fashion X fashion show in Gaborone.
The chief executive officer of Fair Ground Holdings, Mike Montshiwa said, “the high fashion event was introduced in the spirit of partnership through Fairground Holdings and Inner Aura, which is a concept that added a touch of lifestyle, fashion, color and glamour at the Botswana Consumer Fair Programme.”
He said they were doing that whilst in the course of doing business, as they also need to take some time out and recognise the special guests that have special interest in fashion.
One of Botswana’s upcoming designers, Lesedi Matlapeng kick- started the show with a sizzling collection, which had a spring flavor to it with pink plump dresses accessorized in glitter, floral lace satin dresses and long silk stripped ones. It also had a cooperate feel of black bulge skirts.
Fashion X also incorporated ladies and menswear as well. It included colorful clutch bags, fascinators and the season trending African prints and neck pieces.
Mafia Soul came to the ramp with urban soul animated tees for men, simple black vests for that sheer look of playful casual wear and their ladies were in short cropped pants, jeans and that spotty look with some showcasing spring jump suits.
In addition, Sweetie Lobelo brought a Setswana culture touch to the show showcasing German Print designs fused with a modern twist of truffles and drapes, high waist skirts in red and blue leteisi.
Limkoking University’s very own, Aobakwe Molosiwa hyped the show with a lacy fresh and young look that got the audience growling for more as he also added a bit of a lingerie look to his line.
Two cheek girls doubted as material girls also stepped up the ramp with cute, yet sophisticated couture two pieces, bright lime maxi dress, sporty vintage pants and summer tee for the girls
They dazzled their models with back packs for that everyday sheer look.
The Fashion show themed, “Fashion X- Symphony of Color” thrilled the audience, as the venue was transformed into a white mystical place of graphics courtesy of Limkokwing University of Creative Technology. ENDS
