Ndingo rescues dijo tsa rona show

Those who missed Letlhafula in May, would have had a second opportunity at the first ever Dijo tsa rona Food Show at BotswanaCraft over the weekend.
Dijo tsa rona was predominantly a food festival with a large variety of traditional food found in the country while alongside the food element, various traditional forms of cultural entertainment was on offer.
Same concept as Letlhafula, the Dijo tsa rona Food Show organised by Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board saw a handful patrons who looked uninterested throughout the show. The show lacked some life to an extent that the audience was glued to the chairs despite music performances by different artists.
However, it was not until the veteran jazz maestro, Ndingo Jowa took the stage when people started leaving their chairs to dance to his tunes. The old man brought life to the very first BAMB food show which many people had expected to be a blast given the lineup of both local and South African artists.
The peak of the show was when Ndingo played his popular piece Pa nkaka, which saw a lot of screams and the audience singing along the gifted artist.
Ndingo’s dancers also added flavour to his performance as they were appreciated by many when they did what they know best.
Nonetheless, BAMB marketing and communications manager, Lorato Kwelagobe said the show was intended to market the rebranded organisation.
She also noted that they wanted to build awareness about Botswana culture and market the country abroad as far as food industry was concerned. Ends
