The Francistown Miss Spring, Winter Explosion, which has been an annual event since 2011 and spearheaded by Bon- Fella records will be held at Chedu Choga Phase IV hall on August 29.

The event will bring together more than 15 contestants from Francistown and surrounding areas and is aimed at showcasing talents from aspiring models and beauty pageant contesters, who will be competing for Miss Spring 2014 title.

In an interview with BOPA recently, the organiser of the pageant, Kgakgamatso Machae said as a professional and former model who has been in the modeling industry for more than seven years, she saw it fit to organise the show in order to impart her skills to other youths.

She noted that it is also a way of giving unemployed youth a purpose in life in order for them to refrain from unacceptable behavior, stressing that by so doing she will also be giving back to the society.

Machae said residents of Francistown do not consider modeling and beauty pageants as a serious business hence a challenge to find contestants.

However, she said she wants to take it to a higher level, stressing that she trains more than 10 aspiring models who she also assists with cosmetic treatment and most of them will be competing for Miss Spring 2014.

She urged youth in Francistown and its surrounding areas to participate in the event stressing that it is every Motswana’s privilege to support and participate in the event.

She said the participants will be requested to pay P50 as a joining fee and stressed that the prices for Miss Spring will be worthwhile, considering that they encompass certificates of participation.

Solomon ‘Chase’ Mabutho, the owner of Bon Fella Records said the event has grown from inception, stressing that this year’s event will bring together artistes such as, Star Luu, Chase and Accuse. Ends
