Man survives train crash

A Zimbabwean national escaped death by a whisker when his car was nearly crushed by a goods train at Pilane rail crossing on August 9.
Speaking in an interview Senior Superintendant Seabe Maboka said they were yet to establish the cause of the incident. He said the Zimbabwean man who was driving a Mercedes Benz was rushed to Princess Marina Hospital where he was recovering.
Senior Supt Maboka said at the time of the incident, the man was alone in the car when the goods train heading to Gaborone hit his car.
He urged drivers to be cautious, observant and obey traffic signs when crossing rail line at all times adding that they had the responsibility to play to other road users. ENDS
