Spring ushers in new designs
11 Aug 2014
Following months of cold weather Spring is finally here and with it comes blooming flowers and colour.
Such colour can also been seen in clothes and home decorations. Many fashion designers will also release their spring collections.
This year’s spring collection is somewhat that perhaps designers drew inspiration from Mother Nature’s ever-changing moods as many of the looks from the Spring 2014 collections seem better suited for fall.
Nonetheless the freshness of the new season colours up the city with floral designs, the High waist Ankara print skirts and the fashionable scurf’s that Gaborone ladies tie around the neck, hair and also worn just as an accessory.
The popular must haves for every Spring/Summer season include the short cropped pants for both men and women that can be dazzled up with logo tees and for the teens cartoon bright tees can be that pop in your wardrobe.
In a season bursting with street flavor and sportswear styling, it comes as no surprise to see logo tees and shouty slogans hitting the mainstream stated the Fashion Trends Word Up blog by Lucy Olivier.
She says” leave head-to-toe lettering to billboards and body art; a single, subtle message whispers good taste now”. “Wear your thoughts on your sleeve,” says Vogue Spring Collection contributing editor Calgary Avansino. “Not since the logo-laden Eighties have we seen so much typography”, she says.
In addition, the sassy Bonolo Oabile of the Soulfoul B blog mentioned that her take on this season’s trend is a lot of color and fitted clothes.
Your peplum tops, pencil skirts and skater skirts will do. “My all year favorite denim on denim or with other material is still the essential look for an average Motswana girl,” she says. Another trend that Batswana should look out for is the multicolor commonly known as “color blocking”.
A rainbow lit up the collections, drenching the new season in head-to-toe primaries and color-blocked brights. Meaning the Oranges, Reds, Blues Pinks and Purples will dazzle ones wardrobe.
Most astonishing of all are Spring/Summer’s multicolor creations looks that pulse with shade upon sumptuous shade for a feel of the gallery outcome that is bold and painterly. “There was a wonderful juxtaposing of color this season,” says Glamour Fashion director Lucinda Chambers.
For her part Madam Queen a renowned fashion expect mentioned that fashion is all about comfort, so this Spring bright colors, exuberant nail art and chunky accessories are a must have for this Spring/Summer season.
A lechesa also known as Converse All Star will do for the Street look for the girls who prefer just to be simple over a light vest, maxi dress, skirt or cropped Capri or wide leg pants. Ends
