Police officers applauds Lokgwabe community

Botswana Police Divisional Commander South, Mr Oreeditse Mautle has commended residents of Lokgwabe for working amicably with the police in fighting crime.
Mr Mautle applauded the Lokgwabe community for the positive role they played in assisting the police towards apprehending a certain man who had been terrorising the community for weeks.
In an interview, Mr Mautle said the 32-year-old suspect who hails from Lokgwabe had been on the run after allegedly been linked to several incidents which included rape and house breakings.
The suspect, who is an ex-convict was released to do extra mural punishment, but committed other crimes while out. Mr Mautle said residents of Lokgwabe had shown that vision 2016 pillar of safe and secured nation could be realised when people worked together.
He applauded and encouraged them to continue displaying such a positive respond towards combating crime in the country. Crime, he said, could annihilate peace that prevailed in the country hence the need to fight it collectively.
For his part, Kgosi Moabi Molatole of Lokgwabe said in the past, there was animosity between police officers and people and this has changed as now people understand their role combating crime.
Kgosi Molatole commended his community for the splendid work done in helping to apprehend a suspect. ENDS
