JT Special Boy also known as Thabang Tshukudu is the new kid in the block with his jagged robust sound of urban Hip Hop and the popular trap music.
The 23-year-old young man who was born and bred in Gaborone has a distinct look of street wizens and music calibre. His killer single titled Gurugumba is a must have for the young and old Hip Hop enthusiasts.
JT says he is promoting the Hip Hop culture which is slowly losing its hype and rhythm. The song which is promoted and produced in Gaborone, Botswana is BlackMail.ent produced and is managed Twistee.
JT Special Boy features other artists in the likes of T.H in this song and has worked with Grand Dollar of DG records, Low Boy and Zimbabwe’s finest LIC and South Africa’s Janice.
It incorporates the Motswako of mixed languages being Setswana, English, Zulu and Kalanga. The title track, Gurugumba, addresses Ozzy F Teddies remarks about how Botswana Hip Hop artists are below standard.
To record this single, JT Special Boy was inspired by the fact that most Batswana do not know and appreciate Motswako music that has a blend of Hip Hop.
“I am trying to bring something fresh and new fuss trap music with Motswako to bring back the Hip Hop we used to listen to as children. My inspiration came from the likes of Tupac and Biggie Smalls who have enthused most young Hip Hop artistes,” he said.
The artist said he is hoping to release another single later this month and is busy shooting the videos and is scheduled to perform in a thriller show in Zimbabwe towards the end of the year.
His dream he says is to work with the renowned Motswako artist A.T.I and Notshi as he feels they have the same taste and vision music wise, adding that he is also working on an R’n’B track with Terrence Kgwarae.
Inspired and living his dream through music, JT Special encouraged young Batswana to work hard and never give up. “Whenever I die, I will live through music,” he said. ENDS
