Zen Face of House of Kay

Zenzele Hirschfeld is the face of House of Kay fashions. She was chosen because of her love for fashion, good looks and that she believes in Kay fashion brand.
Zen is a feminist go getter, a role model to many in the entertainment industry; who every new company establishing itself will choose to help brand and build the image of their companies. She also keeps a simple African look which is a complement to House of Kay as their style is simple comfortable vintage.
Since the fashion world and the entertainment industry are interconnected, Kaone Moremong of House of Kay fashions found it fit to bring in Zenzile as the face of her fashion house.
Kaone is the creative mind behind vintage striking African prints which the curvaceous, bold headed, talented socialite music promoter Zen is seen strutting of late.
Choosing the right fashion for an individual is not about the latest trends, but about the right colour to match skin tone and choosing garments that make one feel confident. “Every woman should embrace their curves and put on clothing that enhances them,” says Kaone. She says she believes women should flaunt their curves and not hide them especially that most African women are fully figured.
Most clothing retail stores, she says have beautiful clothing for slender sized women; and more often the fuller figured are either not catered for or supplied with not stylish clothing.
Kaone says she wants to change that by providing African figured sisters with beautiful stylish clothing that make them feel proud of their bodies.
Women, she says are already self-conscious about being “fat”, cellulite and having low self-esteem. “A well fitted dress that makes one feel like a million dollar queen can change that instantly,” says Kaone.
Zen could not agree more with Kaone on this one. “It is important for one to know their correct body sizes and wear something that is comfortable and look good on her,” retorts Zen.
She says every woman should be able to “rock in something that will reflect their inner beauty.” She says she is thrilled to be working with House of Kay as it shows growth and the impact Zen Promotions have in society.
About the ramp, Zen says is something that is still on the cards and will obviously be in partnership with House of Kay. She says walking the ramp will also boost the fuller figured woman’s morale and self-esteem and actually help them appreciate themselves.
Zen also applauds Kaone for breaking the stereotype in the fashion industry that only slender women can be models to look up to. She says this will open opportunities for other locals and be an eye opener to companies and perhaps retailers in Botswana to use Batswana as their faces and brands.
Zen says she will abide by the rules and regulations of House of Kay, in order to deliver on what is expected of her as the face of the fashion house. House of Kay plays with African colours and texts to produce that gorgeous dress to be desired.
Kaone states that African prints may be a trend to other people in Batswana, Namibia, Lesotho and the western world but to all other African people, it is a lifestyle that will keep evolving.
At the moment the demand for African prints is high especially that international celebrities who are trend setters are wearing them, one of them being Solange Knowles.
Thus Kaone says African prints are tailored to suit western inspired designs. “They are styled in ways that make them modern and suitable for every occasion and not just traditional African ceremonies,” she explains.
Despite the demand for African prints, this talented designer believes the craze for the print will soon fade out where the masses are concerned, and says only the people who have always had it as their way of lifestyle will remain dedicated and still in love with it.
But on the brighter side, she says the beauty of prints is that they can be blended with other fabrics. “I love mixing them with other fabrics like lace and chiffon and even mixing prints from different cultures to create unique outfits,” quips Kaone. ENDS
