OP returns with Fong Kong

10 Jul 2014

After the success of his hit single Keep Running, rapper Opelo 'Opmani' Tirelo, popularly known as OP, is back with another single dubbed Fong Kong, produced by Risq.

The young Motswako rapper hit the big time with his first release as he got to share the stage with the likes of Liquideep, Bujo Mujo, and Hip Hop Pantsula at Dladleng Entertainment.

OP, who originates from Moshupa, started off rapping on the streets during late night cyphers with the likes of PP Wa Pimp and Eureka from a young age of 14 years.

By the age of 21 years, OP was already a seasoned rapper. He met with fellow MC’s PK Maada and Epic who motivated him to start recording music.

His first single, called “Keep Running,’’ was produced by Karli Beatz Waitse and released in 2011.

It received a lot of air play and cemented OP as a rapper to reckon with. But music was not bringing in enough money for OP and he opened a tavern in Moshupa called “Ga space bar,” which has been keeping him busy and sustaining him.

“It’s a tough world out there. I love music but it doesn’t generate that much profit. That’s why I branched into my business,” he said.

OP describes himself as a go-getter, a hustler and a poet, who always feels free to say his mind. He further revealed that the video for the single will be shot this month.

“I am back and this is my time. It’s not a feel good moment for any artist because it’s not about them it’s about me and my fans,” he said.

OP promised to work hard to elevate Motswako music to greater heights. The single “Fong Kong” can be downloaded online. ENDS
